








When the people of King Island needed a sewerage treatment plant, Syrinx Environmental proposed a passive treatment wetland system to solve the problem. Instead of unsightly and smelly engineered tanks, and pumping effluent into the sea, the wetlands treat sewerage naturally. Capturing the shape of the dunal landscape, these wetlands use native vegetation to treat the effluent. The result is a natural system with minimum embodied energy and high habitat values.
The economic development of Alicante which has led to a large building growth, without the mediation of a proper urban planning. Consequence of this is to the disappearance of his identity as a maritime city, public space, intended as a heart of relations of community life, a clear separation of the port and the rest of the city.

The Gran Casino Costa Brava, located in the historic gardens of the Gran Hotel Monterrey in the centre of Lloret de Mar (Girona), is based on a distinctive environmental and architectural project by b720 Arquitectos, headed by Fermín Vázquez. At once practical and singular, the design of the new casino breaks with convention by approaching the complex as a unified structure that rises out of the ground. The building is divided into three clearly differentiated levels that are integrated in the surrounding environment.

This project proposes a responsible urbanism based on the heterogeneity of the program, on the urban porosity and on the adaptability to the different situations and events.
We didn´t want an intervention that was working only in moments of concerts and festivals, we wanted a fabric that was forming a part of the day after day of the city offering daily spaces to the habitants of Kaohsiung.
